‘This is incredibly bittersweet’ | Café Babette announces closure after over 2 years in business, owners moving from Indianapolis to Spain

INDIANAPOLIS — Café Babette, a popular French pastry shop in Garfield Park, will be closing its doors just over two years after opening.

The Norris’ will be moving to Spain, citing their family and President Donald Trump’s re-election as a couple of the reasons.

“This bakery was a dream I carried for a long time. And now I know, without a doubt, that we could do it. We did do it. We killed it actually,” the Norris’ said in a statement. “We are on track to do almost 1 million in gross sales this year…only open 3 days a week with limited hours, no coffee program, no inside seating, no wholesale, no gift card sales, no specialty cake orders, and no delivery.”…
