A former Wake County school principal is considering filing a second lawsuit against the school system. Scott Lassiter believes Wake school leaders are using a “$68,000 price tag” to block him from accessing public records he requested as part of his initial suit against the school board.
Lassiter filed an amended complaint Monday in federal court. A news release Tuesday indicated that he is considering filing a new action in state court against the Wake County Public School System.
The amended lawsuit claims school officials “weaponized a routine response to a student fight in order to manipulate the outcome of a high-profile State Senate race,” according to the release. “WCPSS knew about Lassiter’s intervention to stop the violent confrontation for months but waited until the last weeks of the election cycle to open an internal investigation.”…
