Deputies: $180,000 In Drugs Seized During Johnston County Search

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Johnston County man faces multiple felony drug charges after authorities allegedly uncovered a large-scale marijuana packaging and distribution operation during a search of his residence.

Douglas Scott Allen, 51, of Olympic Trail, Garner, off Cornwallis Road, was arrested May 5 and charged with three counts of trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, narcotics agents had been investigating a drug complaint that led to the execution of a search warrant at Allen’s home.

Investigators alleged the garage had been converted into a marijuana packaging operation where Allen received large quantities of marijuana and repackaged the products into smaller amounts for resale. Authorities said the operation also involved THC edibles and psilocybin mushrooms…
