Man ordered to pay over $270,000 for chemical spill into W.Va. creek
FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A South Carolina man has been ordered to pay over $270,000 after a crash on the West Virginia Turnpike polluted a creek in August of 2022. Dennis West, 58, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, was ordered to pay $266,444.86 in restitution on Wednesday for negligent discharge of pollutants into United States waters, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
