WATERLOO – Solon shot a 312 on the opening day for the Class 3A state golf meet on Tuesday and sits sixth in the team standings after 18 holes of the two-day, 36-hole event at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo.
The Spartans are just three shots off the team led as Knoxville, Ballard and North Polk each shot a 309 on Tuesday and are locked in a three-way tie after 18 holes.
