Cedar Rapids woman accused of participating in Iowa City riot, destroying phones

IOWA CITY — A Cedar Rapids woman arrested Wednesday is accused of participating in an Iowa City riot with a group of five in April 2025, according to an Iowa City Police Department criminal complaint.

Police said friends of Timiyea M. Fowler, now 19, were arguing with others at 211 E. Iowa Ave at about 2 a.m. on April 20, 2025. When the fight turned physical, the others put down their phones and purses to defend themselves and were pepper-sprayed by Fowler’s friends.
