As usual, I have a hard time following my own advice. I have cautioned in this column many times to be careful when making that first visit to the garden center.
Every plant seems to be one I need or want, is brand new, a good old standby or the perfect color. The list goes on, regardless of whether I have a place to plant them. Oh well, it’s spring, we are just starting a new month, the drought in Iowa is mostly over, and the flowers just seem to be calling.
There is still worry about a late frost. This weekend is going to have a couple of cool nights, so maybe keeping the plants I bought inside for one or two more weeks would be a good plan…
