A big flip in the pattern is coming as the weather turns warmer and more active in Eastern Iowa. There will be daily (or nightly) chances for thunderstorms and the potential for strong to severe storms.
The bottom line is to check in on the forecast each day and make sure you have multiple ways to get warnings.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
- There will be the chance for a few scattered showers and storms Thursday night
- Highest chances will be south of Highway 30 between midnight and 4 a.m.
- No severe weather expected Thursday night
- Dry Friday with storm chances increasing in the late evening (some uncertainty on timing)
- A few strong storms possible that could produce damaging winds and hail
SATURDAY
- A cold front will be stalled out and lead to additional showers and storms
- A few storms possible in afternoon, higher chances in the evening
- Strong winds, hail, and heavy rain possible
SUNDAY & MONDAY
- More widespread storms are expected Sunday and Monday
- Too far out for details, but potential for severe weather both days
With so many rounds of storms each will influence the next, which can make the forecast complicated. That’s why it’s important to get the latest information and be prepared for changes…
