Caitlin Clark opens up about almost choosing her dream school over Iowa: “When you’re from the Midwest, it’s Notre Dame”

Caitlin Clark built a legendary career at Iowa, turning the Hawkeyes into a national powerhouse while becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer across both men’s and women’s basketball.

But before leading Iowa to back-to-back national championship appearances and transforming women’s college basketball, Clark seriously considered taking her talents elsewhere.

Becoming a Fighting Irish

While she ended up having an historic collegiate career, Clark seriously considered playing for the University of Notre Dame, her “dream school” growing up in Des Moines. Among her best basketball core memories was seeing former Fighting Irish and now fellow WNBA All-Stars Skyler Diggins (Chicago) and Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas) do their thing.

She shared this during her recent appearance on WNBA legend Candace Parker’s “Post Moves” podcast, alongside her Fever teammate Aliyah Boston. Clark highlighted how she was already looking to join Notre Dame and even made a “soft commitment” to the school…
