PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver was arrested Sunday night after authorities say he led troopers and police on a high-speed pursuit through parts of Mesa, Tempe and Phoenix.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a trooper was on Loop 101 near U.S. 60 in Mesa when they spotted a dark Ford Mustang speeding at more than 125 mph.
The Mustang continued onto U.S. 60 before eventually exiting the highway. Phoenix police’s helicopter, “Firebird,” tracked the vehicle from above near 46th Street and Roser Road in south Phoenix.
Authorities said the driver continued recklessly through city streets before reaching the area of 24th Street and Roser Road. When officers turned on their lights and sirens, the driver sped off again, getting onto Interstate 10 and heading back toward Tempe…
