PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Look for a warm start to the new week with sunshine and a high of 95 degrees in Phoenix. That’s nine degrees above normal for this time of year, and 10 degrees shy of the daily record.
A ridge of high pressure over the Southwest will begin to push east today as low pressure approaches the West Coast. The departing high will bring in just enough moisture from the south to spark a few thunderstorms and rain showers in eastern Arizona today. The rest of the state will be dry.
Tuesday will bring stronger winds across the state as low pressure from the west begins to move onshore. Wednesday will also be windy with the low moving across the Great Basin.
