Berkeley County couple wanted in connection with dog fighting investigation

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating two people wanted in connection with an animal cruelty and dog fighting investigation.

Anthony Juedell Banks, 48, and Nicole Lasean Boyd, 46, are wanted on six charges related to dog fighting and animal cruelty.

Deputies responded to a house on Bering Lane in the Meridan neighborhood of Cane Bay after a report of a foul odor coming from the home on April 29. Upon arrival, they encountered circumstances that led them to obtain and execute a search warrant at the home.

They located 15 dogs inside the home during the search, confined in crates without access to water. Deputies also saw the crates filled with urine and feces. Later evidence indicated that the dogs were being used for dog fighting, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Carli Carr. The Berkeley County Animal Control later removed all the dogs from the home…
