CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Goose Creek man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison after prosecutors said he distributed pills laced with fentanyl that led to the death of a local lawyer.
Levi Phillip Miles, 48, was sentenced to 60 months in prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and OxyContin and for distributing fentanyl resulting in death, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of South Carolina.
Investigators said Miles regularly distributed prescription pain pills to his employer and cousin, David Aylor, from at least January 2022 through January 2023. By summer 2022, Miles could no longer obtain legitimate prescription pills from his suppliers, but the victim continued to request pills in December 2022, authorities said…
