GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — More than 700,000 Americans are living with a brain tumor right now. Some of the most promising research in the country is happening in South Carolina.
Dr. Ben Strickland, a Clemson graduate and neurosurgeon, returned home after years of medical training to conduct groundbreaking research at MUSC’s Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston.
“I grew up locally. I’m from Columbia — a household of doctors. I was a proud Clemson graduate and started going west for my medical training. Ended up at Baylor with MD Anderson. That’s where I fell in love with neurosurgery,” Strickland said.
