CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of the Lowcountry on Sunday evening, including Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Beaufort and Colleton counties, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.
Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties (until 6 p.m.)
At 4:35 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Summerville, moving east at 20 mph. Wind gusts up to 60 mph were possible, with expected damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Impacted locations included North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Ladson, Daniel Island, the Naval Weapons Station Charleston, and the Interstate 26/Interstate 526 interchange. This includes I-26 between mile markers 190 and 215 and I-526 between mile markers 18 and 27.
Beaufort and Colleton counties (until 6 p.m.)
At 4:56 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Islandton to near Coosawhatchie, moving east at 30 mph. Wind gusts up to 60 mph were possible, with damage to roofs, siding and trees expected…
