NEWTON, N.J. (WCIV) — Robert “Bob” McCaffrey, whose wife Gayle has been missing out of Charleston for over 14 years, has been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the 1990 murder of Lisa Marie McBride in New Jersey.
McCaffrey, 54, was arrested in April near his home in North Carolina and extradited to New Jersey later that month in connection to the 1990 disappearance of Vernon Township woman Lisa McBride, who was found dead in a nearby forest months after she went missing. Advancements in DNA technology eventually led investigators in the NJ State Police Cold Case Unit to McCaffrey decades later, according to court records and statements made by those involved.
