CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The National Hurricane Center has designated an area just offshore from the South Carolina Lowcountry as an area for potential tropical development in the next seven days.
The NHC has given the large area a 20% chance of development, mostly centered towards the latter portion of next week, approaching the Fourth of July.
A stalled front could develop an area of low pressure, which could slowly start marching westward as we approach the Fourth of July Weekend.
Right now, the main concerns from Storm Team 2 are the potential for rip currents and heavy rain. Better forecasts will develop as we move closer to July 1…
