SC250 brings Carolina Day to life with music, dance and drone show at U.S. Customs House

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Charleston residents gathered at the U.S. Customs House steps on Saturday to mark Carolina Day with a community celebration capped by a commemorative drone show over the harbor.

The event, hosted by the South Carolina American Revolution Sesquicentennial Commission (SC250), featured live music, colonial dance lessons, and reenactments designed to help people experience Revolutionary-era Charleston rather than simply read about it.

“It is ours. It is complex, it is complicated. Sometimes it’s ugly, sometimes it’s beautiful, but you know what, we own it,” said Molly Fortune, CEO of SC250.
