Coroner: Cause and manner released in North Charleston infant death investigation

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the name as well as the cause and manner of death of an infant who was found dead inside an insect-infested apartment a month and a half ago.

The death of 11-month-old Nomai Weathers was determined to be starvation due to neglect. The manner of the death has been ruled a homicide, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said.

North Charleston police confirmed that former officer Seth Worrell visited the home on the 2200 block of Eleanor Drive on May 27 and June 15 in response to calls about a malnourished child…
