Hanahan’s new town center blocks national chains to support local shops

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCSC) — A new walkable town center is coming to the heart of Hanahan, built on the site of a hardware store that anchored the community for nearly eight decades.

Blackwell’s Corner will bring together a curated mix of local restaurants, retail shops, and office spaces, with developers intentionally excluding national chains.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for September 2026, with a projected grand opening in fall 2027.
