NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Former North Charleston Police Chief Ron Camacho will receive more than $60,000 in exchange for not suing the city after his abrupt resignation in early August.
Under the settlement agreement, Camacho will receive a one-time lump-sum payment of $65,093.94, releasing the city from any subsequent legal claims tied to his departure. A copy of the agreement was obtained by News 4 on Tuesday.
In a copy of his resignation letter addressed to North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess, Camacho remained thankful for having the chance to be North Charleston’s top cop. It is unknown what he plans to do next…
