TROPICS: Potential Tropical Cyclone Five expected to strengthen into Edouard Monday night

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The season’s next tropical cyclone is expected to develop soon and forecasters have begun issuing warnings to parts of the United States.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring Potential Tropical Cyclone Five, which is expected to become Tropical Storm Edouard some time Monday night.

As of 11 a.m. Monday, PTC5 was located at latitude 27.8 north, longitude 91.0 west, about 130 miles south of Morgan City, Louisiana and 230 miles southeast of Port Arthur, Texas.
