CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Crowds flocking to Shem Creek for time on the water are prompting warnings from local charter captains, who say an influx of third-party boat rentals is creating congestion at docks and raising safety concerns.

Captains along the popular waterway say third-party charter businesses have been docking for prolonged periods, disrupting traffic in and out of Shem Creek and contributing to overcrowding.
