Goose Creek man sentenced to 45 years for murder of his fiancée’s father: Solicitor

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – A Goose Creek man was sentenced to 45 years for his involvement in a 2023 shooting, resulting in the death of 53-year-old Earl Goodwater, officials said.

Joshua Scott-Lee Butler was found guilty by a Berkeley County Jury of Murder, Pointing/Presenting a Firearm at a Person, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Butler was not found guilty of Second Degree Domestic Violence.
