DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department is investigating after two people were killed in motorcycle accidents within one week. It’s a trend police say is fueled in part by dangerous driving behavior.
On Monday, April 13th, 24-year-old Oakley Meador was driving his motorcycle on the I-26 West onramp near the Crosstown when he lost control. Meador struck the barrier and fell from the overpass. Even though he was wearing a helmet, he did not survive.
On Wednesday, April 15th, 23-year-old Codie Hill was driving on Clements Ferry Road when he struck the rear of an 18-wheeler. Hill was ejected from the impact and struck the container being carried on the trailer. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries…
