Storm Team 3: Smoky skies give way to showers Saturday

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Wildfire smoke continues, while some opportunities for rain arrive this weekend.

Two fires to our south, the Highway 82 Fire in Brantley County, along with a larger fire in Clinch County, have brought smoke and poor air quality to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.

As winds shift to a southwesterly origin overnight, smoke from these fires will be around for much of the morning hours through about midday.

Expect difficult air quality for some time Saturday, especially for those with respiratory concerns.

Part of an unsettled pattern coupled with heat and humidity will bring the opportunity for scattered showers or storms Saturday afternoon through the evening…
