CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A stalled affordable housing project in West Ashley is getting a second life, but not in the way many expected.

Instead of building new units, Charleston County leaders are now redirecting $500,000 to repair aging apartments, bringing dozens of unlivable units back on the market.
