Sheriff: Man being arrested threatens to kill Berkeley deputy upon his release

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) — A man is facing charges for allegedly threatening the life of a deputy as he was being arrested on other charges.

Malik Evans, 26, has been charged with trespassing, resisting arrest with assault on law enforcement and threatening the life of a public official.

On Wednesday, Berkeley County deputies responded to the Parker’s gas station in Moncks Corner on North Highway 52 in reference to a male subject who called 911, stating he was homicidal.

Prior to their arrival, Berkeley County Communications told deputies that Evans had already been issued a trespass notice for the property and that he had been released from the Hill-Finklea Detention Center the day before…
