CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and arson for a 2021 stabbing that left another woman critically injured, Solicitor Scarlett A. Wilson announced.
Lyric Whitfield was sentenced by Judge Charles McCutchen to 20 years in prison, suspended to 12 years, followed by five years of probation. She has been jailed since her arrest in June 2021.
Whitfield and co-defendant Desiree Brown attacked Rondoshia Holmes on June 18, 2021, while Holmes was riding in a car driven by Brown in North Charleston, prosecutors said. Brown and Holmes were married but separated at the time.
