Police recover loaded machine gun, marijuana in North Charleston traffic stop

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department arrested a man after officers recovered a machine gun and marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday morning.

Jhedyn Nasir TY’Britnis Linder, 19, of Walterboro, is charged with unlawful transport of a machine gun, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, speeding and littering.

An officer who was conducting speed enforcement on Palmetto Commerce Parkway observed a vehicle traveling 68 mph in a 45 mph zone just before 10 a.m. When the officer activated their emergency lights and sirens, they saw a black object allegedly thrown from the passenger-side window onto the shoulder of the road.

Additional officers responded to assist in the traffic stop, and when the vehicle stopped they made contact with the driver and recovered the object that was tossed from the vehicle…
