Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority filed to annex nearly 11 acres at Interstate 77 and Sutton Road into Fort Mill. This marks the site for a $450 million hospital project. The Charlotte-based health system purchased the land in March for $5 million, adding to more than 80 acres it controls in the area.
The four-story building will span 200,000 square feet. It will house 60 beds. A separate 73,000-square-foot medical office building will sit alongside it. The health system anticipates a 2029 opening for the hospital, which will carry the name Atrium Health Fort Mill, according to WSOC-TV.
