(PINPOINT WEATHER) — May is now officially the wettest month we have seen since August of last year.
It had been 9 months since Charlotte had had a month without a rainfall deficit.
The Gulf has been open for business, bringing significant moisture to the region, which has led to rounds of thunderstorms.
The Charlotte area is nearing 5 inches of rainfall for the month, which is roughly 1.5 to 2 inches above normal for the month of May.
The May rain has brought us up to 10.87 inches of rainfall for the year, which is still the 10th driest start to the year through May 25th.
Another interesting statistic is that the May rains have accounted for roughly 43 percent of this year’s rainfall in Charlotte…
