Gaston County senior defies odds walks at graduation months after being paralyzed in shooting

GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) – A recent Gaston County high school graduate is celebrating far more than receiving his diploma.

Doctors told Kamryn Penny he had less than a 1% chance of ever walking again after he was shot in January during an attempted robbery in south Charlotte, according to court documents.
