Low water levels prompt boat ramp closures at Lake Norman

LAKE NORMAN (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Of the six ramps at Blythe Landing in Lake Norman, four of them are closed. Officials say this is due to low water levels, but it didn’t stop boaters from venturing out on the water.

“It’s pretty hot out there,” said Tristan Pierce.

The high was above 90 degrees on Saturday afternoon, and neighbors chose to cool down in the water. With much of the area still experiencing a severe drought, water levels are even lower than they were weeks ago.
