🍝 A new Southern spot opens in Steele Creek
Mark your calendar for Saturday, Aug. 1 — that’s when EVO Kitchen & Co. throws open its doors near the Charlotte Premium Outlets, Tanasia reports. Founders Edmond “Roc Well” McMiller and Myra Wilson are pitching the concept as “refined yet approachable,” landing somewhere between a casual hangout and a night-out kind of place. Expect lunch, dinner and late-night bites rooted in classic Southern flavors with a global twist, plus live music and DJ sets. Chef Kendrick Hollis, a military veteran with more than 15 years of culinary experience, will run the kitchen. 👨🍳
McMiller told CharlotteFive he wants EVO to feel like the TV show “Cheers” — a spot where everybody knows your name. “This restaurant represents resilience, but it also represents joy,” he said. Drinks will include craft cocktails like the EVO Island (Malibu rum, peach schnapps and pineapple juice), plus alcohol-free sips. 🍹 📍 Find it at 5220 New Fashion Way #400.
