Charlotte Pride parade brings large crowds and energy despite scorching summer heat

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte’s annual Pride parade made its way through the streets of Uptown on Sunday.

But it was hot.

Beverage vendors were busy, letting people in the crowd know they had ice-cold water and Gatorade.

“I knew I was going to need somewhere to sit,” said Donald Stitt, who was watching the parade from under an umbrella he brought. “I was going to need something to drink. And I’m a native, so I know this is Charlotte. You better bring an umbrella for sun or rain.”…
