A new breakfast and lunch pop-up is taking over Cheat’s Cheesesteaks on weekends this fall.
Why it matters: Daybreaker is the latest concept from 1957 Hospitality Group, which, in addition to Cheat’s, also operates The Crunkleton, Rosemont and Puerta.
What to expect: The limited-time pop-up will serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches, plus coffee and matcha.
- Cheat’s director of operations Ashley Bayne created the menu, pulling inspiration from flavors she grew up with and dishes she’s tried while traveling.
- Pizza Baby is supplying the bread, and Javesca Coffee will provide locally roasted coffee.
Best bites: Breakfast sandwiches range from $9-$12, including the $11 Daybreaker with egg soufflé, Vietnamese sausage, garlic mayo, scallion and chili crisp on brioche.
- The $12 Crispy Morning layers egg, Havarti and bacon on a crispy scallion pancake.
- The $12 Lincoln pays tribute to Lincoln’s Haberdashery’s former Mary’s Muffin, with egg soufflé, Havarti, ham, heirloom tomato, pickled jalapeño and garlic mayo on a Bianca bun.
- Lunch includes the $13 Big Dill chicken salad sandwich, the $14 Emilia with burrata and mortadella, and the $13 Negima with grilled chicken and sweet soy tare.
