CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 25-year-old Charlotte man was sentenced to 81 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possessing a machine gun and using a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
According to court records, on Aug. 13, 2024, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department saw Jeremiah Dashaun Reed carrying a firearm. During a subsequent traffic stop for a traffic violation, the officer recovered a handgun that had been converted into a machine gun using a “Glock switch.”
