Channel 9 confirmed Monday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has an active case involving Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
A spokesperson for the agency told Channel 9’s Joe Bruno that the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI “have had an active investigation related to [CMS].” The spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing, and they couldn’t provide any additional details.
The news comes in the wake of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the state auditor’s office confirming that they’re also looking into the district’s finances.
