CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Titanic The Exhibition is open at the Park Expo in Charlotte. It tells the story of the 1912 disaster that claimed more than 1,600 lives. It features recreations of the ship and more than 300 artifacts.
The exhibition’s journey starts at the Harlan and Wolff Shipbuilding Yards in Belfast, where 15,000 workers built the ship. Mark Lach, creative director of the exhibition, said at the time Titanic was the largest moving object ever made by the hands of man.
First-class luxury and third-class hopes
After leaving the shipyard, visitors walk through a spot-on version of a first-class hallway.
