Teen detained after being caught with 3D-printed gun near North Mecklenburg High School, CATS bus stop

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A teen is facing charges after he was caught with a 3D-printed firearm at a Charlotte Area Transit System bus stop on Wednesday.

Just before noon, a resident noticed a juvenile carrying a weapon at a CATS bus stop in the 11100 block of Bryton Town Center Drive, coming from North Mecklenburg High School, according to a spokesperson with the Huntersville Police Department.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and CMPD’s Realtime Crime Center (RTCC), Huntersville Police school resource officers and patrol officers found the teen, who went into a nearby retail store after seeing authorities arrive in the area…
