CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Anthony Hopkins pled guilty in Charlottesville Circuit Court on Tuesday to two charges of attempted malicious wounding and two charges of using a firearm in a felony in connection to the July 4, 2025, shooting on Orangedale Ave.
While the 21-year-old has been the only suspect charged in the July 4 shooting that injured five, Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nina-Alice Antony told the court on Tuesday that Hopkins claimed to have fired only two shots, both of which did not hit anyone.
