When the Virginia Tech softball team boarded a bus to Charlottesville for this past weekend’s ACC series against the Cavaliers, it was a huge matchup between two teams ranked in the Top 25.
Virginia Tech was No. 11, and Virginia was No. 21. After dropping the opener to the Cavaliers, the Hokies rebounded and sent a message by winning the final two games to take the series. It was a series win that the Hokies needed on the road to secure their spot near the top of the conference standings ahead of the ACC Tournament next month.
