Norfolk police seek ID of scammers who stole money using borrowed phone

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police are seeking the community’s help in identifying two scammers who borrowed someone’s phone and transferred a large amount of money to themselves inside a Wawa.

On July 6, officers responded to a fraud report in the 1100 block of North Military Highway at approximately 12 p.m.

Police said it was reported that two men approached a victim while inside a Wawa, located at 1146 North Military Highway, asking to borrow a phone because their card was not working in the ATM machine…
