A man was arrested on June 30 for allegedly locking his girlfriend inside a self-storage unit for two days at MyStorage in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Troy Hofheimer, 49, faces charges of abduction by force, suffocation, and assault and battery, according to a source.
The woman told police that she was locked in a storage unit at 2120 London Bridge Road between June 23 and 25. While visiting the facility, she and Hofheimer argued. He then allegedly pushed her into the space, closed the roll-up door and secured it with a padlock from the outside. The victim was trapped inside with her dog and two guinea pigs, the source reported.
The woman told investigators that Hofheimer returned to the unit several times, asking if she wanted to leave before relocking the door. When police asked why she didn’t agree to exit the space, she told them she was afraid Hofheimer wouldn’t allow it and that he had previously choked her until she lost consciousness…
