SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Flock camera mounted on a pole along the Seaboard-Coastline trail in Suffolk has people who jog, walk and bike through the woods weighing privacy versus security.

The city says the camera been in place for more than a year, but people who spoke with WAVY say they’ve taken notice of it only recently. Unlike a Flock license plate reader, the camera is more for traditional surveillance. Positioned about halfway between Driver and Pughsville, it monitors activity in both directions.
It’s all too much for Andrea Pollmeier, who uses the trail a couple times per week to train for long-distance competitions.
“To have a camera that I feel is constantly watching me is disconcerting,” Pollmeier said.
