Currituck Co. traffic stop leads to drug trafficking, stolen firearm arrest

CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake man has been arrested on drug and firearm charges following a June traffic stop in Currituck County, according to authorities.

On June 26, Currituck County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation.

During the stop, deputies located a concealed firearm. A records check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen. During a subsequent probably cause search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 205 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a second concealed firearm, and several digital scales containing suspected drug residue…
