Alert issued after 9 recent home burglaries throughout South, SW Sides

CHICAGO — A community alert was issued after nine recent home burglaries in different neighborhoods on the South and Southwest Sides.

The following residential burglaries happened in Clearing, Garfield Ridge, Brighton Park and Archer Heights neighborhoods. A timeline is below, per Chicago police.

  • 6000 block of S. Mobile Ave. on May 30 at 7:00 p.m.
  • 4700 block of W. 51st St. on June 3 at 6:20 p.m.
  • 3200 block of S. Western Ave. on June 5 at 2:10 p.m.
  • 3200 block of S. Western Ave. on June 6 at 5:20 p.m.
  • 2400 block of W. Bross Ave. on June 7 at 4:33 p.m.
  • 2400 block of W. Bross Ave. on June 8 at 5:59 p.m.
  • 4300 block of S. Komensky on June 8 at 8:30 p.m.
  • 5300 block of S. New England Ave. on June 8 at 8:26 p.m.
  • 3800 block of W. 46th Place on June 10 at 5:55 p.m.

According to police, the burglars gain entrance through a rear or front door and then ransack the home — taking jewelry, money or safes.

They flee in a dark-colored SUV. No other information is available…
