Tucked away behind the boat slips at the harbor in Uptown, the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary offers a secluded nature preserve just steps away from Lakeshore Drive.
As visitors enter the sanctuary, they leave the paved walkways behind for dirt trails shaded by thick branches.
The area serves as an active habitat for local wildlife. Walkers can easily spot chipmunks darting across the paths, butterflies fluttering, and various bird species resting in the foliage overhead.
