COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) – Road closures and detours tied to the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project are raising concerns among some small business owners in Covington, who say the long-term construction could make it harder for customers to reach them.
Preparation work for construction on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project is underway as other nearby projects also affect traffic in Northern Kentucky. The 4th Street bridge connecting Newport and Covington was demolished recently. Ramps to I-71/I-75 around Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard are closed, along with parts of 12th and Bullock streets.
Brad Wainscott, who owns Libby’s Southern Comfort, a restaurant in Covington, said discussion among business owners intensified this week after ramp closures that began Monday.
